At our first meeting, on August 25th, we will be holding Troop Leadership Elections. All elections will be by secret ballot, and winners much obtain more than 50% of the vote. If there are multiple candidates, and none obtain more than 50% of the votes, the two receiving the most votes will be included in a run-off election. We will also be discussing our patrols for 2014-2015 and electing patrol leadership.
Senior Patrol Leader (SPL): Scouts that have achieved Life Scout or higher rank will be eligible to run for SPL. If we have less than two eligible Scouts, the Scoutmaster may modify the qualifications to allow for at least two eligible Scouts to run for SPL.
Assistant Senior Patrol Leader (ASPL): Scouts that have achieved Star Scout will be eligible for consideration. The SPL, with the Scoutmaster’s approval, will appoint the ASPL.
Troop Quartermaster (QM): Scouts that have achieved Star Scout will be eligible for consideration. The SPL, with the Scoutmaster’s approval, will appoint the QM.
Patrol Leaders (PL): Each Patrol will elect a Patrol Leader from among the patrol members, excluding the SPL, ASPL and QM (the SPL, ASPL and QM cannot also hold a Patrol Leader position).
Assistant Patrol Leader (APL): The elected Patrol Leaders, with the Scoutmaster’s approval, will appoint their APLs.
Patrol Quartermaster (PQM): The elected Patrol Leaders, with the Scoutmaster’s approval, will appoint their PQMs.
