Hi All,
Just a quick note to remind everyone of our December Camp Out this weekend, Saturday night only (December 13th). We will be welcoming Friends and Family to join us on Saturday evening for Dinner and our Campfire Event.
The Troop will meet at Cork UMC at 9:30am on Saturday morning, and will head just down the street to our camp site where they’ll set up their patrol camps and the campfire event in preparation for welcoming our guests around 4:30pm. We will keep with the “standard” camp out cost of $15.00 per person even though we’re expecting an increased food cost.
We will be camping on property owned by Boone’s Nursery on Sam Allen Road, East of Highway 39 and West of Park Road, so it should be convenient for our guests to come out and see how our Scouts camp on their weekends out, and to let our Scouts prepare and serve dinner to our guests, and entertain our guests at the campfire event.
The Scouts will then camp overnight and pack up early in the morning, with an estimated return to Cork UMC around 11:00am on Sunday morning.
To help the Scouts plan for the food to be prepared and served on Saturday evening, we will be asking Scouts to sign up for the campout at tonight’s Troop Meeting, including indicating the number of expected guests that will be attending. These are hard and fast RSVPs, but we do need to plan the food purchase, so please make sure Scouts know if they’ll be joining us Saturday night and how many guests may be coming. For families with multiple Scouts, please have one list the number of guests and the others can show 0 guests.
