Important Spaghetti Dinner Information

I have the immense pleasure of coordinating this year’s spaghetti dinner (Friday, May 23) and would like to take a minute of your time to let you know where we are and what we need to do. At today’s meeting your scouts received 10 tickets to the spaghetti dinner for them to sell. Not all scouts got tickets so if your scout didn’t get any tickets and you think they can sell some at your church, work, school, etc please have them see me and I’ll get them some tickets. If your scout sells out of the 10 tickets they have, we have more to sell that they can get from me. I can’t stress enough how important a successful spaghetti dinner is, especially if your son is attending summer camp.

Traditionally our spaghetti dinner fundraiser raises about half of the money it takes to pay for transportation, food, and an overnight stay for the trip to summer camp, and this year is no different. We need a successful spaghetti dinner to raise these funds! And that’s why I’m writing tonight. Thanks to the generosity and effort of the Alderman family we already have donations to cover all the Sauce, Lettuce, Tomato, Cucumber, Onion, Bread, and Meat needs for the dinner. Below is what we still need to make this night a roaring success.

    Adult Volunteer:

1 Adult parent to volunteer to lead the set up of the dining room the day of the event. This would be during the day on the 23rd, and other parent / scout volunteers will be needed to help. The lead adult will also be making sure the iced tea and lemonade is made for the dinner, and the dessert table is set up.

    Scout Families:

Please start bringing in 3# (per scout) of Penne Pasta, 1 large bottle of Italian dressing, and 1 large bottle of Ranch dressing; per scout. (Due to space and cooking considerations we will be serving penne instead of Spaghetti.)

    Scout Families:

We also raise more funds by selling desserts. So please plan on making some kind of dessert we can portion and sell at the spaghetti dinner. I’ll send out a reminder as we get closer to the date.

    Scouts:

Scouts volunteering and when they are needed and what they will be doing will be coordinated through the Senior Patrol Leader as we get closer to the event.

If you would like to volunteer, or if you have any questions please email me at naddf1@yahoo.com. Thanks in advance!
