This is just a friendly reminder that summer camp registration is here and along with that comes the summer camp deposit.
This year, the boys are going to Camp Ottari at the Blue Ridge Mountain Council in Roanoke, VA from June 14 thru June 21. Troop 14 has been going to this camp for the past several years and the boys really love it. We have reservations at two camps: Camp Ottari (base camp) and Claytor Lake for the boys ages 13.5 and older (and at least a first class scout). The cost this year is $310 for Camp Ottari and $340 for Claytor Lake. The adult fee at Camp Ottari is $175.
Blue Ridge Council requires deposits to be made to them by Feb 1 ($100), April 1 ($100 for scouts, $75 for adults attending Ottari) and final payment by June 1 ($110 or $140 depending on which camp the scout attends).
We as a troop have reserved spots for the scouts. I need to know who will be going and which camp you want to attend. If you are sending your scout/adult, your first deposit paid to Troop 734 will be anytime between now and Feb 1. If you want to send your scout but the short notice on the deposit may cause concern, please talk to me or Scoutmaster and we will work with you.
If you have an older scout (older than 13 and has achieved the rank of first class or higher) that wants to attend another high adventure camp besides Claytor Lake, please talk with me asap so I can make arrangements with the council.
